2010 Image of the Year winner announced
Another annual competition is the ‘Best image of the year’ in which members can submit a single image of any underwater subject taken during the last year. Judging for the 2010 Image of the Year took place at the Annual General Meeting on May 25, 2010. The winner was Chris Holman with a gorgeous image looking up to his boat with a school of fish passing by. Chris’ winning image can be found here.

Exhibitions
A wide variety of exhibitions of WAUPS images have been held over the years, with the aim of promoting the excellent standard of photography amongst WAUPS members, educating people about the marine world and supporting marine conservation.
FotoFreo 2010
FotoFreo is a bi-annual event that WAUPS has been participating in since 2006. The FotoFreo Fringe Festival is a series of photographic exhibitions held throughout Fremantle and Perth during FotoFreo. It is an ideal opportunity for photographers to showcase their work alongside the curated core shows and for visitors to view new photographic works by emerging and established Australian and international photographers.The FotoFreo Fringe Festival will run concurrently with FotoFreo, from 20 March to 18 April 2010. WAUPS is holding this exhibition in conjunction with Fisheries WA in the foyer of the Fisheries building at Hillarys Marina. Although this exhibition has now closed, you can view the images here.
